The livestock Breeders Association, otherwise known as the LBA is a not for profit organization, established in Ormstown Quebec. This historical organization was established during the year 1909, when local livestock enthusiasts decided that a Spring agriculture exhibition should be developed in the district and that it should be held at Ormstown.
During the autumn of 1910, “the Livestock Breeders’ Association of the District of Beauharnois Inc.” was formed with a charter granted under the Quebec Companies Act.
The first Exhibition, known today as the Ormstown Fair, took place in May 1910, this agricultural fair has stayed true to tradition for over a century, hosting and growing the June fair for over one hundred years.
As all not-for-profit corporations, the LBA provide products and services to improve or benefit a community, along with the Ormstown Fair, the LBA have created two new events, the LBA Fall Festival and the LBA Christmas Village.
These three major events help the LBA generate enough revenue to provide support to their community all the while maintaining the property and assets of the organization. Any money made by this not-for-profit is not for the personal gain of its directors, members or officers, it goes back into the organization to further its aims and projects.
